Kānuka Wellbeing and Leadership

About Us

We coach Boards, Directors, senior leaders and frontline managers to create an environment that facilitates positive development, cultural health, social good and growth in results.

The Process | Te Ara Poutama

The Kānuka tree is an Aotearoa native forest pioneer species and has two key roles in the ecosystem: to revegetate and rejuvenate whenua (land) that has been burnt, eroded or experienced some form of trauma; Kānuka also grows tall and has a role in pushing other trees like Tōtara and Kahikatea to grow tall and straight to reach the canopy. We compare these key roles with our wellbeing and leadership philosophies.

1. Co-design Program | Auahatia tō ara

The tree analogy helps to represent our core value of deep connection coaching. This begins with the early effort to design a programme, with you, that is measurable, well grounded and reflects your specific situational knowledge and context.

2. Deliver Workshops and Coaching | Mahia te mahi

We then facilitate engaging and interactive workshops that teach key principles of wellbeing, leadership or cultural health. In between workshops we use connection-coaching to mentor individuals through the development and application of these principles.

3. Measure and Iterate | Haere whakamua, titiro whakamuri

We measure and review individual/team progress against co-designed outcomes and programme success criteria. For best results, we iterate our focus as the development unfolds.

4. Report and Review | Tātaihia te mahere

We provide a 90-day reporting cycle to decision-makers/SLT based upon the co-designed outcomes and programme success criteria. At the end of the programme, we sit down with this group to evaluate the programme and consider recommended next steps
